This is Colin Furze. Colin is, well, he’s kind of a total badass when it comes to making stuff. We’ve reached the end of the year and you know what that means: a new Assassin’s Creed game to potential wow/disappoint/amuse the masses. In Colin’s case, he went with inspire. Yes, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate inspired him to make a working version of the hidden blade that you’ll be using in Syndicate.
“Hold up,” I hear you say, “Syndicate’s hidden blade has a grappling-hook launcher on it.” Yes, yes it does, friend. And so does Colin’s. And yes, it works. And yes, he can use it to climb up things. And no, he doesn’t scale things even remotely as fast as Evie and her male protagonist counterpart (whose name escapes me right now because he’s rather dull and generic) can, but it does the job!
You can check it out for yourself after the jump. It’s an impressive piece of engineering considering ALL THIS STUFF has to fit onto his wrist. It’s so impressive that I’m sure you’ll be able to excuse the little harness he has to hook himself into to make the grapple hook work. You’ll also excuse it because I’d like to see you do better.
Incidentally, we’ve got a full review of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate coming soon. When is soon? Good question; there was a mix up with our review copy but all is being fixed right this moment. Hooray!
