Epic Games, the studio behind titles like Gears of War, Jazz Jackrabbit and Unreal Tournament, has begun slowly trickling out details for its new game, Paragon. Hit the jump to learn what we know.
At the moment, almost nothing has been revealed of the game beyond a short teaser trailer and a few other details on Paragon’s website. The teaser trailer shows off the character model of one of the game’s heroes – a bionic-armed fellow named Twinblast. The website lists the names of four other characters: Steel, Sparrow, Dekker and Grux, while also promising to shed more light on one of these characters every week until December 3rd. Beta sign-ups have already begun, and users are prompted to choose an in-game item that will be unlocked for them in the beta. These items sound a great deal like MOBA-style passive buffs, and they hint towards Paragon being a competitive game.
A little digging around Epic’s website shows several job listings for Paragon, such as for an AI programmer, a character artist and a character concept artist. According to the YouTube description attached to the reveal trailer, Paragon will hit PCs sometime in 2016.
