Likely spurred by their phenomenally successful mobile game Fallout Shelter, Bethesda has released another mobile app called Fallout CHAT.  Sorry, I meant Fallout C.H.A.T, which stands for Communication Hub And Transmitter.

The app adds a ton of Fallout themed emojis, including numerous Vault Boy smiley equivalents and other random bits and pieces like Sugar Bomb boxes and irradiated green poop. There is also a selection of GIFs you can send to contacts, so instead of saying “I loath you and I don’t know why I’m friends with you,” you can just send the Bloody Mess animation in GIF form. A picture is worth a thousand words; or in this case 12 words.

The application allows you to send your Fallout themed messages via SMS or WhatsApp, so it doesn’t use its own proprietary chat software. That’s how they obviate the need for your contact to have Fallout C.H.A.T installed as well. I sent a few test messages this morning, but for some reason the GIFs didn’t play properly in WhatsApp.

Fallout C.H.A.T is available right now on iOS and Android. The app is free to download, so start spamming your entire contact list with Vault Boy abuse right away.
