There’s this little game called Fallout 4 that came out on Tuesday. You’re probably playing it! Did you know that hundreds of thousands of other people are playing it as well? Steam is useful in that it shows us how many people are playing a game at any given moment. Dota 2 remains at the top of that list as it has for, well, I don’t know, forever I guess? It was (not very closely) followed by Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V. Unfortunately for GTA V, Fallout 4 just came along and knocked it down a peg.
In the last 24 hours, Fallout 4 has hit an all-time high of 471,713 concurrent players. That’s a lot for a single-player game! It’s not quite Dota 2’s 24 hour peak of 760,315 concurrent players, but then again Dota 2 isn’t really a game. Kidding! (Or am I? Probably not.)
Sticking with big Fallout 4 numbers, Polygon is reporting that 245,000 people watched various Fallout 4 Twitch streams once the game launched. I think it’s safe to say that Bethesda is enjoying a pretty good launch.
