Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards debuted last year. They went off rather well so it’s nice to see them returning. This year’s Game Awards kick off on 03 December at 9PM Easter Time, which translates to a yawn-inducing 4AM local South African time on 04 December. Honestly, Keighley, I wish you’d be a little more considerate when picking your times.
The awards will be streamed pretty much everywhere: YouTube, Xbox LIVE, Twitch, the PlayStation Network, the Game Awards website, your Internet-enabled fridge door, and even the Wii U! Alternatively you can remain sleeping and then watch the whole show later that day once it’s been uploaded to the interwebs.
There are a bunch of nominees that have been unveiled, for categories ranging from Game of the Year, to Best Score/Sountrack, and Best Art Direction. The nominees for Game of the Year are: Bloodborne, Fallout 4, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Super Mario Maker, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The most heated category will undoubtedly be Best Role Playing Game, as that’ll put Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3 toe-to-toe.
You can check out the full list of nominations over here.
