One of the cool, but somewhat redundant, features that the Xbox One offers is the ability to stream games remotely from the console to a nearby computer connected to your network, allowing you to play your games while someone else makes use of the display that the Xbox One is connected to. It seems that Sony is trying to get this feature working for their Playstation 4 console as well, and SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida confirmed the rumors through Twitter yesterday. Details are scant, but with PC and Mac support on the cards, the only way I can think of for Sony to get this working without making separate applications for each operating system is to get the streaming functionality working through a web browser, in much the same way that they implement PS Now on the PS3 and PS4. Linux users might be in for a treat as well if that’s how they decide to roll it out.
