If you’ve just recently installed and have been using AMD’s new Radeon Software Crimson drivers, you might want to keep an eye on your GPU temperatures while gaming. Reports have been streaming in over the weekend from all over the internet of users who have their fan profiles stuck to 20%, allowing their GPUs to overheat, with many people reporting complete failures. You can avoid this for now by forcing a higher fan speed for your games by going to the Gaming tab > Global Settings > Global Overdrive > enable manual fan speed control. While this isn’t a permanent solution, you can force the option globally or for each game you’re currently playing while AMD develops a hotfix that will address the problem. The hotfix is expected to be available later today. If you’re already using aftermarket water cooling, you’re good to do.
