It’s been a long time coming, and really it seems like an option that should have been available from the beginning, but the kind folks at Valve have decided to finally let us remove games from our Steam accounts.
This is great news for those of us who have dodgy items in our libraries that we’d rather people not know about (I’m looking at you, Chris Kemp). It should also be stressed that this is distinct from Steam’s refund system: the game is irreversibly removed and you get no recourse or compensation.
Are you ready to exorcise some gaming demons? Simply log in to Steam, head on over to support, search for the game you want gone and click on “I want to permanently remove this game from my account”. It offers several prompts along the way, so don’t fear accidentally deleting stuff on a whim and regretting it later. Also, remember that you can always simply hide unwanted games if such extreme measures don’t sit well with you.
