Ah Just Cause 3. Those were great times. I had such an unrelenting blast with Avalanche’s latest chaos engine that I count it among my favourite games of last year.
I’ve always viewed Just Cause as a strictly solo experience. After all, it’s my playground, and I don’t want anybody else making a mess in it. THE MESS IS ALL MINE. This means I’ve never personally played Just Cause 2‘s free, community-created multiplayer mod. Still, from what I’ve heard it’s fancy enough that a great many people were upset by Just Cause 3‘s lack of multiplayer shenanigans.
If you count yourself among those who’re saddened by the exclusion of multiplayer, you’ll be happy to know that’s all set to change with the Just Cause 3 multiplayer mod.
Doesn’t that look like fun? There’s a heap of potential in there for generating incredible set pieces and engaging in general tomfoolery, and I especially like the idea of semi-sneakily dismantling a bridge full of unsuspecting friends. The mod’s in development by the same team who created the second game’s multiplayer add-on. There’s no release date yet, nor is there any info on how servers will work and how many players can occupy a single instance of Medici.
You can stay abreast of the mod’s development by tracking this page. And seriously, if you’ve not yet played Just Cause 3, do it.
