While most of the world is eagerly anticipating the release of the latest chapter in the Doom saga, the classic series is still going strong more than 20 years after its release way back in the DOS era thanks to fresh mods and maps still being created for it. Now one of its original creators has jumped on the nostalgia bandwagon and released a “new” map.

Well, it’s not entirely new. It is, in fact, a “remix” of sorts of the first Doom‘s eighth map, famous for introducing us to the “bruiser brother” Barons of Hell.

You can download the map here. The original game is still up for retail on Steam for R55, or you can try the FreeDoom alternative. You’ll need a source port for the best experience, in which case Zandronum comes highly recommended.
