Not one to rest on their laurels, NVIDIA is back with another game-ready driver update certified by Microsoft’s WHQL testing labs at the Redmond campus in Washington, D.C. These drivers improve performance in upcoming launches such as Tom Clancy’s The Division, Need For Speed, Hitman, and Ashes of the Singularity. There are no new SLI profiles for these games yet, and no changes to existing ones either. What makes these drivers interesting is that they are the first consumer-bound drivers to support the Vulkan v1.0 API fully. Unlike AMD’s Radeon Software Crimson drivers, NVIDIA’s support for Vulkan isn’t limited to beta releases as of yesterday, and you can use these drivers to play The Talos Principle, the first game available with Vulkan support. This also marks the first time that Windows Vista will see Vulkan API support, and 2016 might also be the last year that it sees any further driver improvements from NVIDIA.
