Everything you need to know about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, trailer-ised

Whisper the words “Deus Ex” in my ear and I guarantee I’ll immediately break out in goosebumps, like, everywhere. Not because I really like Deus Ex, but because I love it when you whisper in my ear like that. I JOKE, I JOKE. In truth, it’s actually a mixture of both. ZING.

Anyway, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, the follow-up to 2011’s excellent Deus Ex: Human Revolution, is due to do an awesome superhero landing on store shelves in just a few short months. In preparation, Square Enix and Eidos Montreal want to give you the lowdown on everything you can expect from the game, from its “mechanical Apartheid”-driven story to its choice-laden missions and scenarios. To that end they’ve released a handy “101” trailer, gruffly narrated by Adam Jensen ‘imself, with help from his trusty friends Cybergoggles and Armsword.

I don’t want to exaggerate or anything, but that looks amazing. Those new powers! That weapon modification! Them cyber-goggles! This arm-sword! Sexy cities! Jaw-dropping architecture! Future stuff!

Mankind Divided is prepped for launch on August 23rd, five years to the day after the release of Human Revolution. That feels like a significant thing.
