NVIDIA’s latest baby, the Geforce GTX 1080, is set to begin retailing in the US, Canada, and parts of Europe starting on 27 May 2016. If rumors are to be believed, the review embargo goes up on the 17th, so we might not have long to wait for all the gory details of this beast. A premium reference version of the old-style reference cooler, called the Founder’s Edition, will retail for $699, a $100 premium over cheaper non-reference cards, and NVIDIA’s partners have just announced they’ll all have versions of this card and cooler combo available. Gigabyte, Galax, Inno3D, EVGA, MSI, and ASUS will all have these cards on sale on launch day, and it is expected that some custom cooler designs might be ready in time for the launch with a slightly lower price tag.
