Over on Twitter and the PlayStation Blogcast, Adam Boyes has announced he’s leaving Sony and joining an indie team. For several years now, Boyes was the vice president of publisher and developer relations at PlayStation, and made numerous appearances on their E3 stage. For lack of a better term, he was a “corporate celebrity”, and he contributed to Sony’s unique vision.
Here’s the Tweet from Boyes’ Twitter page. The announcement was met with an outpouring of support and well wishes, even from Ed Boon of Netherrealm Studios.
After an incredible journey here at PlayStation, I’ve made the very hard decision to return to the world of game development!

Although Boyes was a crowd favourite at E3 conferences, he is best known for his professional-level trolling with Shuhei Yoshida and their “How to share PS4 games” video.
