Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was my first foray into the franchise, and the best Call of Duty ever made. Period.
Anyway, the remastered version (and Infinite Warfare, I guess) is still quite a ways off, but thanks to recently uploaded footage of one of the game’s most iconic missions, hype levels are already way beyond 11. Hit the jump for gloriously remastered nostalgia, and to see how the original game compares.
The footage uploaded to the official Call of Duty channel is of Modern Warfare‘s second prologue mission “Crew Expendable,” and it’s everything you think it’ll be. But first, have a look at what the mission looked like back in 2007.
It aged pretty well considering it’s just south of a decade old.
Now, here’s the same mission again, only you might notice a slight graphical improvement.
Yes, that just happened. It almost looks like an entirely different game: the water, the lighting, the atmosphere, EVERYTHING looks better! It’s obviously still no match for most titles nowadays with all their fancy particles and bloom things, but it’s a major graphical improvement to a really incredible game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered won’t be sold separately, which means that for the time being at least, fans will have to purchase either Infinite Warfare‘s Legacy or Digital Deluxe editions to get it. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be out on 4 November 2016, and will cost many rands.
