Batman: The Telltale Series showcased in first trailer

The first episode of Batman: The Telltale Series will be donning the cowl and skulking the streets soon, and the first trailer detailing its story has been released. It gives some clues about the plot and time frame.

The first episode of five will be called Realm of Shadows, and it looks like it takes place fairly early in Batman’s career. It centres on Harvey Dent running for mayor, which gets various Gotham crime lords involved in backing him. This is before Dent becomes Two-Face.

There’s little gameplay in the trailer. The visual style features cel-shading and heavy outlines, which is typical for Telltale’s comic book adaptations. Other characters like Catwoman, Alfred Pennyworth, Vicky Vale and Carmine Falcone will star in the game. Troy Baker is providing the voice of Batman / Bruce Wayne.

Batman: The Telltale Series will premiere digitally on 2 August and a season pass disc will launch on 13 September. You’ll get to be the Knight on 360, PC, PS3, PS4, XBO and mobile platforms.
