Battlefield 1 open beta goes live later this month, new gameplay trailer inbound

I don’t usually buy into the hype of most things, but Battlefield 1 isn’t most things. It looks AMAZING.
EA and DICE have zero intention of putting the brakes on the hype train any time soon. According to a post on the game’s website, players can get their first Battlefield 1 fix at the end of the month on PC, PS4 and XBO. Accompanying the announcement is a brand-new gameplay trailer that includes an actual hype train in honour of Gamescom, and it’s kind of spectacular.
The post explains that the beta officially kicks off on 31 August, but early access will be granted to Battlefield Insider members who sign up before 21 August.
The beta will see players facing off on the Sinai Desert map, which sounds like it’s got it all: “From infantry skirmishes in the narrow streets of the village of Bir el Mazar to dogfights above the majestic cliffs, you’ll need to make tactical use of the dunes as you engage in explosive battles. When all hope is lost, reinforcements will arrive in the shape of a powerful Behemoth: a deadly Armored Train charging through the desert sands.”
Gameplay modes which will be available in the beta are Conquest, a 64-player struggle for control over objectives, which should be familiar to fans of the franchise, and Rush, a 24-player search and destroy mode promising countless opportunities for game-winning moves.
Battlefield 1 is slated for release on 21 October 2016 for PC, PS4 and XBO. You can pre-order the game through Origin for R849.95 right here.
