Vampyr pre-alpha footage looks dark, bloody and gothic

Vampyr, the next title from Dontnod Entertainment, has been lurking in the shadows for a while now, looking all edgy and brooding in its trench coat. The game was briefly shown off at E3 2016, and now a new trailer gives us a longer look at the gameplay.

The trailer shows our vampiric protagonist, Dr. Jonathan Reid, navigating the dark, dangerous streets of London. The city is in the grip of the 1918 Spanish Influenza, as well as an outbreak of vampires… because reasons. Packs of vampire hunters roam the streets, and there’s a certain Bloodborne vibe to it.

The trailer provides a look at how the game uses a dialog wheel for conversations. Every named character in a region has a fleshed-out bio as well, and killing one of them looks to have far-reaching repercussions.

Vampyr is set to launch sometime in 2017 for PC, PS4 and XBO.
