Resident Evil 7 gets updated demo, latest trailer welcomes you to the family

At some point during my many years of being a horror fan, I think I lost the ability to legitimately get scared. Other than the occasional unexpected jump scare, I don’t really react all that much when presented with something terrifying. But that doesn’t mean that certain things don’t creep me the hell out.

Enter Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, or more accurately, a new trailer for the game titled “The Bakers”. It’s not that the trailer goes all out to scare the crap out of you, it’s just that it leaves you (or me at least) with an uncomfortable feeling of dread. Trailer, updated demo information, and screenshots below.

For those of you who haven’t been following news about Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Capcom has gone an entirely different direction this time around. They’ve ditched the third-person perspective, opting for a more immersive first-person viewpoint, and instead of “go there, shoot some zombies, oh look, more zombies”, they seem to be focusing more on the survival horror aspects of the franchise.

As explained by PlayStation, if you’ve got a PS4 and are itching to try it out, you can play the game’s demo called Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour, even if you don’t have a PS Plus subscription. The demo has officially been updated to the “Twilight” version, which expands on the things you can do and see.

Here are a few new screenshots.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will be coming to PC, PS4 and XBO on 24 January 2017.
