I don’t play MOBAs as a rule, because MOBAs are the worst, but I do play a bit of Smite from time to time. What’s the point of rules if you don’t ever break them? Unless it’s the rule about not eating my Tim Tams. Nobody eats my Tim Tams.

Anyway, Smite developer Hi Rez Studios has now announced Smactics Smite Tactics, a turn-based strategy game also featuring the same mythological monster mayhem, but with, you know, more turn-based strategy stuff.

“Build an army from a large roster of mythological gods and creatures like Zeus, the Greek God of the Sky, and Odin, the Norse Allfather,” reads the official website blurb. “Then wage war in competitive multiplayer matches or single-player adventures. It’s up to you to command your Gods, strategically position your forces to take advantage of the terrain, and unleash divine powers to defeat your foes.”

There’s a beta “coming soon”, and you can sign up for some of that in the link up top. In the meantime, though, here’s a trailer to get that holy retribution going.
