Well, not everything will be free, you’ll still need to fork over the cash for the actual game, but “all maps, modes, and more are free after launch.”
Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it is. True, I mean. According to a post on the game’s official website a few days ago — which explained a few key features that should set the game apart from the crowd — Titanfall 2 will not include a season pass, meaning that after you buy the game, you won’t need to spend any more money on essential content. Nice! Details after the jump.
This means no splitting up the community and it all starts with the legendary Angel City map, remastered from the original Titanfall. This means once you’ve purchased Titanfall 2, your investment includes a full single player campaign, the full multiplayer maps and modes, and long-term support with no hidden costs. You can pre-order the game to play 3 days early, but it will never cost you extra.
A recent tweet sent out by the game’s official account serves to reassure fans that this is in fact real life, and that the developers are 100% serious.
In an age where season passes and costly additional content is basically the norm, it’s great to see Respawn Entertainment going against the grain. But before you go out and buy it, check out these awesometrailers, see if your system can run it, and be aware that its launch-day patch is absolutely MASSIVE.
Titanfall 2 is out today (28 October) for PC, XBO, and PS4.
