First Halo Wars 2, now this. Discs are the new retro-cool, apparently. I have, like, a whole box full of the things in the back of a cupboard somewhere. Does that make me a hipster? I don’t even own a ukelele. We’re two weeks into 2017 and I’m already having an existential crisis.

Anyway, local distributor Ster-Kinekor has teamed up with sci-fantasy RPG Torment: Tides of Numenera publisher Techland to get the game out on discs in South Africa. So that’s that.

Launched on Kickstarter back in 2013, Torment: Tides of Numenera is a sort of spiritual successor to Black Isle’s 1999 cult-popular Planescape: Torment, an old school Dungeons & Dragons RPG which featured a sarcastic talking skull. The game banked its $900,000 target in six hours, and eventually closed on more than $4 million, so it’s kind of a big deal.

It’s out on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on 24 February.
