I mean, capture the rooster. Obviously. As expected, Overwatch‘s next big event has started and next to the inevitable heaps of new skins, emotes, hero intros, and whatever else, the game now also features a limited-time capture the
flag rooster brawl mode – something that fans have wanted since the game launched in last May.
“Overwatch‘s Lunar New Year celebrations have begun and we hope this seasonal event brings you happiness, prosperity, and (most importantly) lots of fun,” Blizzard announced in an update on its blog. “For the next three weeks, players will have the chance to collect over 100 commemorative cosmetic items, enjoy a firefight beneath some fireworks on Lijiang Tower, and work together to capture the flag in Overwatch‘s newest brawl mode.”
Game director Jeff Kaplan also dropped a video explaining what’s what, and why designing a capture the roosterflag mode was such a complicated process for Overwatch.
The Year of the Rooster event is happening from now until 13 February.
