Are you ready to make the… switch? I’m here all week, but in the meantime, South African distributor Core Gaming Systems has announced that the Nintendo Switch will be out on this end of the planet in time for the international launch on Friday 3 March, with a recommended retail price of R5,599. Availability is limited to Takealot and BT Games on the big day, and “soon thereafter” at other retailers.
“Nintendo Switch offers a completely new gaming experience that South Africans will love – we are thrilled to introduce this unique gaming console locally at the same time as the rest of the world,” says Core boss Matthew Grose in the press stuff.
The basic retail bundle features the console, Joy-Con (L) and Joy-Con (R) controllers, a Joy-Con grip, a set of Joy-Con wrist straps, a Nintendo Switch dock, a HDMI cable, and an AC adapter.
If you just can’t wait until then, Core is hosting a pre-launch event from 17-19 February at Sandton City in Joburg. More info as it comes over on Facebook.
