Pillars of Eternity 2 fully funded in a day, gets a new teaser to celebrate

Hey, remember about four days ago when Obsidian Entertainment announced Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire? Remember how they needed $1.1 million in funding on Fig to make the game happen? Well, they got it. And they reached their goal in less than 23 hours! The campaign is currently 151% funded. That’s $1.6 million in funding from 15,259 backers.

To mark the occasion, the developer uploaded an exciting, but frustratingly short teaser for the game which you can check out below.

“We have the best fans in the world,” reads Obsidian’s press stuff. “It is amazing how quickly they helped us reach the funding goal for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. Our fans were responsible for the original game’s critical and financial success, and we are looking forward to doing it all over again with them for the sequel. For those who reserved Fig Games Shares, thank you for your trust in us and we look forward to having you share in the potential success of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire together.”

The game’s Fig campaign still has more than 25 days to go, and if things keep going the way they are, Pillars II shouldn’t have any trouble matching the original’s total funding of almost $4 million.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is expected to release on PC early next year, according to the official Fig page.
