The Force is strong with Star Wars Battlefront 2, according to EA boss Andrew Wilson, who confirmed in the company’s latest financial report that the inevitable sequel will include a lot more content than the first game.
“Our next Star Wars Battlefront will be even bigger, taking players into more locations, and allowing them to play with more heroes and characters across multiple Star Wars eras,” he told investors.
“There will be new ways to play, including an all-new single-player campaign, and much, much more that we are excited to share with our players in the months ahead.”
Wilson also cited The Force Awakens and Rogue One as movies that expanded on the Star Wars series, but whether or not the new game will feature characters from them is a matter of speculation for now.
The game is already in development at Criterion Games, DICE, and EA Motive, the latter studio also working in collaboration with Visceral Games on its own, untitled Star Wars project, and it’s expected to launch sometime this year.
