Mass Effect: Andromeda’s DLC multiplayer maps will be free, new video details “Golden Worlds”

Tarryn didn’t want to further spoil Mass Effect: Andromeda for herself by watching a video showcasing the game’s exploration, but she totally did [I REGRET NOTHING. – Tarryn]. Which is why she’s forcing me to take the hit on this one.

After giving us a brief glimpse of some of the planets we’ll be able to explore in Andromeda, BioWare uploaded another new video that more deeply details the various environments that await us on said planets. Also, BioWare has confirmed that they won’t charge you for additional multiplayer maps. Score!

Before we get to the trailer, a fan asked BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn on Twitter whether the game’s multiplayer maps would be premium downloads, to which Flynn responded: “It’s going to be just like ME3.” In case you’re unfamiliar with Mass Effect 3‘s DLC, the game received things like characters, maps, gear, and more totally free to download.

The video above serves to detail seven planets that will be available for players to explore and possibly colonise.

Habitat 1: “An arid world with vast underground rivers. Despite the dry desert climate, temperatures are well within a comfortable range for settlement.”

Habitat 2: “A large moon orbiting a gas giant is expected to be rich in minerals, and could potentially act as a resource for generations to come.”

Habitat 3: “Plays host to lush jungle canopies and rolling hills.”

Habitat 4: “Scans suggest immense wealth of liquid surface water, making it an ideal candidate as a life-sustaining world.”

Habitat 5: “Appears to be a perfect home for dextro-protein life.”

Habitat 6: “Has wide oceans and a temperate climate.”

Habitat 7: “Currently has all the markers of a tropical paradise. This will be our first destination upon arrival 600 years from now, and quite possibly your future home.”

Mass Effect: Andromeda launches on 23 March for PC, PS4, and XBO.
