Last month Blizzard finally confirmed that Hearthstone‘s next expansion would be themed around dinosaurs, elementals, and elemental dinosaurs. They also detailed their plans for the next 12 months of Hearthstone, and according to a new post the game’s official forum, those plans now include a fairly sizeable price increase for card packs, adventure wings, and arena tickets in South Africa.
The price hike will go into effect on 22 March and will hit South Africa along with a host of other countries, all of which are listed here.
“We’d like to let everyone know that we’ll soon be adjusting the pricing of Hearthstone purchases made through the PC, Mac and Android clients, and through the Battle.net Shop,” reads the blurb. “We regularly look at our pricing around the world, and from time to time we make changes such as these to align with local and regional market conditions.”
Here’s a list of what prices will look like after the increase:
2 packs: R44.99
7 packs: R149.99
15 packs: R289.99
40 packs: R749.99
One adventure wing: R104.99
Arena ticket: R29.99
Luckily, the game’s upcoming Journey to Un’Goro expansion will not be affected by the price bump, at least not until it launches sometime this April. But hey, I only spend in-game gold on card packs anyway, so meh.
