Swedish publisher Starbreeze has teamed up with developer OtherSide Entertainment to launch System Shock 3 on PS4 and Xbox One, with an investment of $12 million into the project. Until now, the game was in development for PC.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Starbreeze for System Shock 3,” said OtherSide boss Paul Neurath in the press stuff. “They truly get games and gamers, and have been able to translate that understanding into a robust publishing business, and build thriving gaming communities around their franchises.”
First announced back in 2015, the new game will feature original voice actor Terri Brosius as the morally, uh, ambiguous AI and entomology enthusiast SHODAN, with narrative design by Deus Ex writer Warren Spector. It’s kind of a big deal, apparently.
… So, I should probably get around to playing the first game.
