Dead Rising 4 didn’t receive a whole lot of love in Tarryn’s review a few months ago, and since I totally trust her ultra-superior judgement, I didn’t bother picking it up. Lolno, I’m just not that into zombie games that aren’t COD‘s original zombie mode.
But many of you are into the game, and I’m sure a few of you grabbed it when it launched on Steam earlier this month, so the game’s upcoming Frank Rising story DLC should be right up your alley.
“Frank Rising explores what happens to Frank after an all-new outbreak in Willamette,” explains Microsoft in a new post.
“Frank is infected and wanders the city beaten, bloody and driven only by a need to feast. When a former ally discovers him, he is written off as incurable. Luckily, he’ll find help from an unlikely resource. As Frank begins to recover he’ll need to race to find a permanent cure while developing all-new abilities and strength. Unfortunately, he can no longer eat food to stay alive and must feast on others to survive. As he is trying to save himself, Frank learns that several survivors he cares about are trapped in the city with him and he must rescue them – and himself – before the government closes his case file for good and wipes the city off the map.”
The DLC launches for XBO and PC on 4 April and will set you back $9.99 (around R125). Or you could just get it as part of the game’s season pass for R169.
But wait, there’s more. Microsoft also announced another DLC pack called Super Ultra Dead Rising 4 Mini Golf, which is essentially what it sounds like – mini golf with zombies. It’ll arrive for XBO and PC “soon,” and will also cost you $9.99 (R125) as a standalone purchase.
