Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is out next week, launch trailer unleashes the dubstep

Bulletstorm is one of the many titles in gaming’s history that’ve been sorely overlooked. It’s absolutely mad and immensely fun, but it released in the same year as Dark Souls, Skyrim, Battlefield 3 and The Witcher 2, back when I had to be extremely selective with my game purchases.

Thankfully, remasters are the hot new things everyone’s doing right now, and I plan on checking out Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition when it goes live next week. In anticipation of its release, Gearbox has uploaded an action-packed launch trailer. It really could’ve done without the dubstep.

“Updated with hi-res textures, increased polygon counts, sterling audio, and smoother frame rates — all running in up to 4K resolution on PC and PS4 Pro — this new version of Bulletstorm comes with all of the previously-released add-ons along with all-new content,” explains the developer. “Step into the boots of Grayson Hunt after a crash landing on an abandoned resort planet forces him to make a hard choice: survival or revenge. An exiled member of the elite assassin group Dead Echo, Grayson’s reckless desire for vengeance finds his crew stranded on Stygia where he can finally confront the commander behind his betrayal — or get his team off the planet alive.”

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition hits PC, PS4 and XBO on 7 April. You can pre-order it on Steam for R415. Pre-ordering will also net you Duke Nukem’s Bulletstorm Tour, which will let you run through the game’s entire campaign as good old Duke. It features “a fully rerecorded script and brand new lines from the original voice of Duke”.
