There’s a lot going on in the first Thor: Ragnarok trailer

And not just that totally bodacious new retrowave ’80s logo, but that too. Mostly that, actually. I’ve no clue what else is even happening because I’m a fake nerd who doesn’t read the comics, but Jeff Goldblum is in it so you know it’s going to be brilliant.

Featuring Led Zeppelin’s contextually appropriate Immigrant Song, the trailer debuts Thor’s hot new hairdo, plus Mark Ruffalo back as Hulk, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and introducing Cate Blanchett as the wicked Hela. Benedict Cumberbatch will also also make an appearance as Doctor Strange, and the fabulously glammed-up Jeff Goldblum is Grandmaster, one of the Elders of the Universe and apparently a fan of sports.

Chronologically, Thor: Ragnorok takes place after the events of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Thor “finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilisation – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat”, according to the film’s official synopsis.

It’s out in November.
