Remember when I made a wish that Overwatch‘s secret new thing would be a co-op mode? It came true, you guys.
~I am one with the universe.~
I should probably also wish for a cat in a jetpack while the wishing’s good, but a new co-op mode will keep me busy for now.
The news comes via a PlayStation France video on YouTube that’s since been removed (but there’s a version of it over here), introducing a co-op, wave-based battler mode called maybe Insurrection or maybe Uprising – a recent comic was called “Insurrection” in French, but “Uprising” in English, although the words are more or less synonymous, anyway. Much like the Junkenstein’s Revenge mode that was available during Overwatch‘s Halloween event in October, this new co-op mode has four characters – Tracer, Reinhardt, Mercy and Torbjörn – going up versus waves of Omnic bad guys on a revamped version of King’s Row, to “relive one of the key moments in the history of Overwatch“.
Besides the new mode, which is out from 11 April to 1 May, the update also apparently adds more than 100 new cosmetic thingies, including some hot new skins for for McCree, Genji, Widowmaker, Mercy, Torbjorn, Bastion, and Orisa.
