Ahead of its expected reveal at the Star Wars Celebration event this weekend, a 30-second trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 has dropped out of hyperspace, featuring “game engine footage” and its new single-player campaign, plus cameos from the prequel trilogy and The Force Awakens. And… space battles? I think it’s got those too.

Somewhat unpredictably, it seems the game’s campaign will put players in the boots of a female Imperial officer, with a narrative that starts on Endor at the end of Return of the Jedi. “I still remember my last orders,” she says. “The day the real war began.”

Then there’s a lot of X-Wings, and TIE Fighters, and Star Destroyers, and AT-ATs, and Rebels riding tauntauns. Please let that be a real thing you can do in the game. We also see multiplayer characters from “across all eras”, including Yoda, Darth Maul, and Rey, and what looks like Hoth and the First Order’s Starkiller Base.

No release date is confirmed, but Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is scheduled to launch sometime this year on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
