When Blizzard announced that Heroes of the Storm‘s 2.0 update would be a huge deal for the game, they weren’t kidding. Since the launch of the update, the game’s been almost entirely overhauled, Genji entered the nexus, and now there’s even more really cool stuff on the way.

A new Overwatch-themed event kicked off yesterday, and during the next few weeks it’ll give players the opportunity to earn new skins, mounts, portraits, sprays, banners, and loot boxes for both HotS and Overwatch. Also, a new short all but confirms D.Va as HotS‘s next character. Oh, and Genji’s official spotlight trailer is pretty great.

First, let’s look at the “Nexus Challenge 2.0”, which runs from 25 April to 22 May. According to this post, players who log into the game during that time will be presented with quests. Each week, a new quest will be added to players’ logs, and in order to unlock the next quest, the previous one will need to be completed first.

There are four quests in total. Each tasks players with partnering up with a friend to finish five matches in AI, quick match, unranked or ranked mode. Below is a list of when each quest goes live, as well as the rewards players will be able to unlock.

Quest 1: 25 April

  • Overwatch Rewards: Oni Genji Skin, Portrait, and Spray
  • Heroes Rewards: Orochi Hovercycle Mount, Oni Genji Banner, Portrait, And Spray

Quest 2: Starts after 2 May

  • Overwatch Rewards: Officer D.Va Skin
  • Heroes Rewards: Busan Police Hovercycle Mount

Quest 3: Starts after 9 May

  • Overwatch Rewards: Officer D.Va Portrait and Spray
  • Heroes Rewards: Overwatch Nexagon Mount, Officer D.Va Banner, Portrait, and Spray

Quest 4: Starts after 16 May

  • Overwatch Rewards: 10 Loot Boxes
  • Heroes Rewards: 10 Loot Chests (one of which is Rare)

Next, here’s another trailer titled Hanamura Showdown. Besides being a great way to show off HotS‘s new map and hero, it hints that Overwatch‘s D.Va will be added to the game, and probably very soon.

“You do not have to fight alone,” reads the blurb. “Battle over Hanamura, ancient home of the Shimada clan, with Genji and D.Va while you experience a world of new content in our game-redefining update.”

For those of you who missed the full breakdown of HotS‘s take on Genji, here’s Blizzard’s hero spotlight.

“Once the carefree youngest scion of the Shimada clan, Genji was cut down by his own brother for refusing to take part in their illegal ventures. Grafted into a cyborg body by Overwatch, Genji now walks his own path in the Nexus as our newest assassin Hero and one who fights for what’s right, no matter the cost!”
