Man did I pick a bad time to take a break from Heroes of the Storm. The game’s 2.0 update has been live for quite a while now, and it’s phenomenal. The addition of Genji to the game’s roster was also massively exciting, but nothing – and I mean NOTHING – is as exciting as Blizzard revealing that D.Va will be added to the game. Well, I’m a bit of a D.Va fan, so maybe it’s not all that exciting, but still.
We already knew the pro gamer turned ultimate mech pilot would be coming to the game, but it’s like, official now. There’s even a spotlight trailer and everything. Oh, and she’s already live on the HOTS PTR along with the latest patch.
“Hana Song, also known as “D.Va,” is both a world champion professional gamer and a burgeoning global icon,” reads the trailer description. “As a member of South Korea’s elite MEKA unit, she fights to protect her homeland from the colossal omnic threat lurking within the East China Sea. Now making her debut in the Nexus, enemies will soon find that this superstar and her MEKA together make one powerful combo. Nerf this!”
A full breakdown of all of her abilities can be found in the latest patch notes, but they’re almost exactly the same as her abilities in Overwatch. You know, apart from her one ultimate being the cutest, most badass thing I’ve seen in the entire game ever.
