Try Fallout 4 for free on PC and Xbox One this weekend, rad discounts everywhere

Sometimes good headlines come really naturally to me, and other times I write things like “rad discounts”. You know, because Fallout and radiation and stuff (that’s my joke, I made it first, I even made a CMS tag, you’re fired – Ed). Whatever, it sounded better in my head (I think you mean “plagiarised”, you kleptomaniac – Ed). Anyway, I think Fallout 4 was an amazing game filled with endless opportunities, and only gets better the more you mod it, but not everyone will like it as much.

But you’ll never really know until you try it, and there’s no better time than now. Bethesda has announced that the base game (and its extensive mods) will be playable for free on Xbox One and PC this weekend.

The free weekend (the first one for the game ever) actually kicks off sometime 25 May (that’s today!), and will last until 28 May. In order to have a go at the game on Xbox One, you’ll need to have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription, while PC users can jump right in through Steam. PS4 owners are out of luck, but at least the game and its season pass will be discounted by up to 67% on all platforms during the free period.

Full details can be found on Bethesda’s official blog.
