Fallout and Skyrim developer Bethesda Game Studios is hiring up for an(other) apparently unannounced project that entirely unprecedentedly combos “bleeding-edge AAA” and “freemium” in the same sentence. This is in addition to the million other games Bethesda already has in development, including The Elder Scrolls VI, and possibly one of the two “classically” idiosyncratic games that Todd Howard was talking about back in February.
ONCE MORE UNTO THE SPECULATE-O-TRON!
According to this job vacancy at its Montreal office, Bethesda Game Studios (the developer, not to be confused with parent company Bethesda Softworks, the publisher) is looking for a performance manager to “to join the team that is pushing the bleeding-edge AAA freemium game development”, with “experience defining and operating online business models”. Or, in regular English, some sort of big budget free-to-play online game featuring microtransactions. Intriguingly, the candidate should also be “comfortable with uncertainty”, but maybe that’s about occasional free donuts.
Industry trends suggest this is a MOBA or something like it, but my bottlecaps are on Fallout Online. Whatever it is, we can probably expect to find out more during the company’s E3 presser on Sunday, 11 June. Or not. I’m comfortable with uncertainty too.
