The guy who wrote the first two Mass Effect games is working on Anthem

I still don’t know nearly enough about BioWare’s intriguing new sci-fi co-op shooter Anthem, but I do know this – senior writer Drew Karpyshyn, whose previous credits include genre classics like Baldur’s Gate II, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and the first two Mass Effect games, plus a number of companion novels, is attached to the project.

After more than 10 years at the studio, Karpyshyn left BioWare back in 2012 – significantly, perhaps, without committing to Mass Effect‘s subsequent, and somewhat controversial sequels – and returned out of retirement in 2015 ostensibly to work on Star Wars: The Old Republic, but apparently also Anthem, codenamed “Dylan” at the time.

Maybe this will alleviate some of that scepticism, huh? Or not. Some people just want to hate everything because they can, I suppose.
