This Week In Gaming [Video Roundup]

Greetings NAGilkins, and thanks for coming back for This Week In Gaming. I have a small bout of the e-sports ebola, but I’ve crawled into my chair long enough to track down the best gaming videos from the week, with a little news sprinkled in-between. Grab a drink and a comfortable chair, and join me after the jump.

Swords of Ditto is an action RPG with a cutesy theme that is looking quite promising, judging by this 12 minute gameplay video.

Escape from Tarkov is looking into the online shooter market with its gritty theme and gun customisation. The closed beta will be starting this month, but you can get a decent look in this video.

I don’t usually watch these “guy plays games he really should have played before” videos, but this one for Jedi Academy rang my nostalgia bell. Man, this was a great game.

Cliff Bleszinski’s LawBreakers has officially gone into open beta, which means that until Wednesday if you have a PC up to the task you can take it for a spin. It looks like this.

One of the co-founders of Playdead (Limbo, Inside) has revealed the first game of their new studio, an action adventure title called Somerville.

The people behind Broforce have come up with their next insane game – a VR exclusive title where you bash gladiator heads in.

I’m not usually that interested in Kickstarter, but Fight Knight launched and funded in the same day, and it looks like a cool blend of old-school FPS and dungeon crawler.

A fan-made Halo tribute called Installation 01 has gotten a blessing from 343 Industries, with the game hoping to “recapture” the multiplayer magic of the original Bungie games. Have a look.

Agents of Mayhem got a new trailer this week, with this one introducing the “Bombshells”.

XCOM 2 is getting a new expansion called War of the Chosen, and this is probably the most exhaustive you’ll ever find of what it adds.
