Giblets: So this is Atari’s new console

After announcing last month that the company is “back in the hardware business” and that, no, it wasn’t actually a joke so now this is kind of awkward, Atari has properly revealed what its Ataribox console looks like in an online newsletter. And yes, it’s got a wood-grain finish. Like it wasn’t going to. For those people who aren’t still living in 1977, though, there’s also a totally futuristic black and red version. What exactly Atari is intending to do with it is a whole other thing, but it features an SD slot, HDMI output, and four USB ports.

“As you can guess, those ports suggest modern internal specs. It also means that while we will be delivering classic gaming content, we will also be delivering current gaming content,” the project team explains.

But can it run E.T.?
