As part of its ongoing hype campaign for Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi, Walt Disney and LucasFilm debuted a behind-the-scenes promo video at the D23 expo over the weekend, featuring the cast of the movie, some camera guy getting blasted with red stuff, adorable animatronics, Chewbacca having his hair done, and the amazing Carrie Fisher. I’m not crying, you’re crying.

If The Force Awakens was a new, uh, A New Hope (and, like, it totally was), then The Last Jedi must be the trilogy’s The Empire Strikes Back. That’s got to be an intimidating prospect for director Rian Johnson, but hey, it’s already looking hotter than a Wookiee suit in a Tunisian summer.

“Everything’s being shifted in the opposite way to what the audience expected after [Episode] VI,” explains John Boyega, who stars as ex-Stormtrooper-turned-Rebel-scum Finn. “Rian’s made Star Wars fresh and new.”

And I dunno what that… thing is at 02:07, but I want the plushie.

Movie’s out in December.
