BioWare’s new Anthem video is totally corny

“What better way to show the growth of a new game,” asks game director Jon Warner in the studio’s new marketing promo video for its co-op post-apocalyptic third-person shooter with jetpacks, “than through corn? Which also grows.”

I mean. Okay.

So, BioWare commissioned a special corn maze in its home town of Edmonton in Canada, mowed (… mowed? Mowed.) into the shape of one of Anthem‘s exosuits and the company’s logo. That’s, uh, definitely something.

“We cannot confirm nor deny whether Anthem will feature corn in any shape or form,” the developer added in a blog update, just in case there were questions.

We still don’t know very much about the game, besides that it’s “science fantasy, very much like Star Wars, very much like the Marvel Universe”, that it’s written by the same guy who wrote the first two Mass Effect games, and that it’s out sometime in 2018. And that it’s got a commemorative corn maze, obviously. That’s probably important too.
