Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is out next week, still looks phenomenal

Ninja Theory’s upcoming Viking simulator (now with added mental illness) is easily one of my most anticipated releases of the year. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice‘s premise is infinitely intriguing, its visuals are amazing, and the gameplay we’ve seen so far suggests we’re in for something really special.

The game’s slated for release next week, and to celebrate, the developer has uploaded yet another stunningly dark and disturbing trailer which you can check out below.

“From the makers of Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and DmC: Devil May Cry, comes a warrior’s brutal journey into myth and madness,” explains the game’s Steam description. “Set in the Viking age, a broken Celtic warrior embarks on a haunting vision quest into Viking Hell to fight for the soul of her dead lover.”

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is coming to PC and PS4 on 8 August, and you can pre-order it right now for R319 (on Steam).
