Mass Effect: Andromeda won’t get any more story content

I mean, we kind of knew this already, but BioWare has now confirmed that there’s definitely no single-player DLC in the works, and that the game update released three weeks or so back was the last one for campaign stuff. Any unresolved plot points will be sorted out through other media, apparently, and future updates will focus on multiplayer instead.

“Early in development, we decided to focus Mass Effect: Andromeda’s story on the Pathfinder, the exploration of the Andromeda galaxy, and the conflict with the Archon,” the studio explains. “The game was designed to further expand on the Pathfinder’s journey through this new galaxy with story-based APEX multiplayer missions and we will continue to tell stories in the Andromeda Galaxy through our upcoming comics and novels, including the fate of the quarian ark.”

Whether or not there was ever any single-player DLC planned is a matter of speculation now and probably forever, but the game’s conspicuous lack of a season pass suggests maybe not. It’s almost like BioWare knew it was going to bomb, #conspiracy #whatever #lol. I liked it, but I’m anti-establishment like that.
