Dead Rising 4 is lurching onto PS4 with new mode and bonus dick jokes

Capcom has announced that the undead-’em-up will be out on PS4 this holiday season with Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package which is probably supposed to be a gift pun with plausible deniability about other, more scandalous interpretations, but the “dead rising” phrase is also kind of awkward now or maybe I’m overthinking it. Ho ho ho.

Anyway, this new version of the game features all previously released DLC, and a Capcom Heroes mode described in the press stuff as “all-new way to experience the Dead Rising 4 story that lets Frank West wear outfits and perform outrageous special attacks inspired by classic Capcom characters”, so that’s, um, festively fun. This new mode will also be coming to PC and Xbox One as a free update when the game shambles onto PS4 on 5 December.

Despite its non-existent difficulty and somewhat drab locations, I liked Dead Rising 4 because it’s campy and preposterous and the Christmas kitschy antithesis of almost every other zombie apocalypse game out there.

Everyone is here (almost) with the new Jump Force DLC
