Assassin’s Creed Origins has done a lot right in my book since its E3 2017 announcement, and it’s probably the first time I’m eager to play an AC game since Black Flag. Origins takes place in a fascinating setting that’s the largest in the series, has a reworked combat system, and features some amazing character designs. The true antagonists of the game have been revealed in a new trailer, and they’re a group of shadowy, mask-wearing dudes called the Order of the Ancients.

According to the game’s lore, the Order of the Ancients are the ones who are really in charge of ancient Egypt. They’re pulling the strings from the shadows, controlling the pharaohs, and probably tying your shoelaces together right now. It’s also mentioned that they’re responsible for some great pain they inflicted on the protagonist, Bayek, which will set the stage for some epic vengeance. The trailer also shows off a bit more of Origins gameplay mechanics.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will stalk like an Egyptian on 27 October for PC, PS4, and XBO.
