Namco Bandai has revealed three more characters to add to the upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ anime-’em-up, including series regulars Yamcha and Tien, and an all new character Android 21, who is set to play an integral role in the narrative (and waifu body pillow production).
With fans’ expectations already over 9000, these fresh additions to the roster will just add to the hype, especially news of an original primary character written into the story by Dragon Ball Z creator Akira Toriyama. Slated for release in February 2018, Dragon Ball FighterZ has had anime nerds in awe since it Ki blasted onto the scene during Microsoft’s E3 presentation. Other characters already confirmed for the game include Trunks, Vegeta, Gohan, Goku, and Frieza.
With Arc System Works at the helm, we can expect BlazBlue/Guilty Gear-style combat, although this time with a Marvel vs. Capcom-flavoured 3v3 mechanic at the heart of the action. It’s looking suitably mad, and possibly one of the most authentic takes on the source material we’ve seen from a Dragon Ball Z game.
