Classic Rockstar releases get ESRB ratings, potentially heading to PS4

A selection of Rockstar Games’ older hits could be shaping up for re-release on PS4, tipped off by ESRB ratings listings spotted recently. We’re going on pretty scant details here, so this is by no means a confirmation, but it looks like we could be seeing Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories, Liberty City Stories, Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition and Max Payne 2 on current Sony hardware.

You would imagine that most of the Rockstar team will be busy on Read Dead Redemption 2 right now, or squirreling away on the obviously-a-thing GTA VI, so don’t expect these to be remasters, rather just traditional classic ports. Still, there will be a lot of younger players who would have missed these games the first time around, and now they’ll be able to make up for that.

The only downside about reissues like these is that sometimes we remember our favourite games through the misted rose-tinted glasses of time – exposure to PS2-era releases could be potentially blinding now, when your fragile retina are used to the likes of Rise of the Tomb Raider and the rest. Max Payne 2 is still brilliant though, I don’t care what anyone says.
