Is this news? I don’t know about you, but it is for me. See, I love single-player gaming – it’s largely the reason I turn my console on every evening. When EA listened to fans of the first game and announced that Star Wars: Battlefront 2 would have a single-player campaign, I whooped like a Wookiee. Now that the game is almost here, we have a ballpark figure of how long it’s going to take to blast through that storyline.

EA Motive’s studio producer David Robillard, speaking recently to Press Start, made it known that we can expect the campaign to last “around five to seven, maybe eight hours”. That puts it neatly in line with the other heavy hitters in the same arena, games like Call of Duty and Battlefield, so no real surprises there.

“We wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out,” continued Robillard.

So, that’s five hours for you guys who just want to get it over with, and eight hours for those of us who want to grind for Achievements get the most out of the game.
